Blanka Fišerová (*1977)
Blanka Fišerová has studied the field of Czech literature (Silesian University Opava) and Media studies and Journalism (Masaryk University Brno). Her studies of Theory and History of Drama and Film (Palacky University Olomouc) were not finished. She used to cooperate with Brno City Theatre (2003-2004) as assistant of director and dramaturgist. She was dramaturgist and two last years artistic director of Silesian Theatre Opava (2004 – 2010).
As an author, dramaturgist or director collaborated on more than fifty inscenations (Silesian Theatre Opava, Studio Two Prague, JAMU Brno, Moravian Theatre Olomouc). She had opportunity to act in many productions (Masha in Chekhow´s The Seagull, Maria Stuart in Schiller´s drama and many others). She teaches at Silesian University Opava (Dramaturgy in Culture – Field of study which she invented) and she works on many cultural and alternative theatre and film projects. She cooperates with Russian director Oxana Smilkova (Three Sisters, JAMU Brno) and translates with her plays of A. P. Chekhow and other Russian authors into Czech language.
She writes her own dramas. Play Zatím si nejsem jistá názvem/I´m Not Sure About The Title Yet was nominated for the Alfréd Radok´s Prize as one of the best new dramas (2007). Her play Na život a na smrt/Come Life, Come Death was filmed by director Radek Volf (2010). This movie attended many international film festivals (Cannes Independent Film Festival, Las Vegas Film Festival, Imago Film Festival and Amsterdam Film Festival).
She writes poetry. Her poems were published in Czech radio 3 Vltava, she attended many poetry readings (Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Opava), her poems were a part of the project TramBus Poetry. Some of them were used in inscenations. She published her first book of poetry called V BÍLÉM/WHITE (2010) and made eponymous performance with violoncello player Jan Hanousek. They found unique connection between her poems and his own compositions.
